About St Monica's Senior Citizens Hm - Racine, WI

St. Monica’s Senior Citizens Home, founded in 1971, sits on 40 wooded acres bordering the Root River in Racine, WI. In the spirit of our foundreses the Sisters of St. Rita, we provide a compassionate, safe loving family home environment that respects the dignity of all residents. We meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each resident and provide support for their family.

In 2013, St. Monica’s was ranked in the top 1% of senior care facilities according to consumer satisfaction through Caring.com. This award recognizes the quality and experience of our staff, not only in their work, but in the attitude towards our residents. Over and over, our residents say, “everyone knows my name here”, “this is my home now” “I couldn't be happier”.

Racine is a dynamic community, located on the shores of Lake Michigan. There are opportunities for our residents to enjoy theater, art events, dining and other cultural programs. Being located between Milwaukee and Chicago, we are often a good fit for families who want to be nearby.

The entire family is important at St. Monica’s. Choosing to make your next home with us is a time of transition for the resident(s) as well as their family. We understand the emotional as well as practical issues that arise with a transition. We will walk with you and help each of you make the move to St. Monica’s a successful one. And our family support doesn't stop there. The Sisters of St. Rita, as well as staff are available to you.

St. Monica’s welcomes residents from any religious or non religious background. Founded by the Sisters of St. Rita, we provide daily Catholic services in our Chapel. Also, throughout the week, other denominational services are held. Your spiritual needs will always be met here at St. Monica’s.

The food, let’s not forget the food! All of our meals are made “from scratch” in our onsite kitchen. Our head dietitian has been with us for over 30 years. Our baked goods are sought out by the community. Mealtime at St. Monica’s is not simply about nutrition, it’s about companionship, community and support. As resident’s say, “As a Texan, I found the “home cookin” to be down home good”, “ I enjoy the food. The stuffed green peppers are really good!”.
